The first 2 miles of the Kalalau Trail and the NaPali Coast is rainforest. So just consider that at least some of the trail will be muddy when you hike. Hiking the lush rainforest along the NaPali Coast, which easily turns to thick mud during rainy weather. Summers in Kauai are generally the driest time of year, with the most mild temperatures.
