One thing about pulling that, when you start the truck it dings for 10 seconds because ABS isn't working. You still have regular brakes, but they could lock up. The 10 second dinging is mind-numbing in the morning before going to work. That's why I've learned to live with the less occassional light on/off dings..

An OBDII scanner will not pick them up but a GM specific scan tool will read all the modules. Tell us a little more about the scanner/code reader you are using please.
